Archival Soft Tyvek --- Archival Soft Tyvek® is a "non-woven" fabric-like soft structure material with a waffle like pattern that offers the best characteristics of paper and fabric in one material. It is used by museums, galleries, artists, and art packagers to wrap and protect a variety of fine art objects such as paintings, sculptures, drawings, documents, and many other art objects during shipping and storage.
Made from 100% high-density polyethylene fibers, Tyvek® is manufactured in a unique flash-spinning process without the use of binders. Tyvek® is formed by a continuous process from very fine 0.5-1.0 micrometer fibers – 50 times smaller than a human hair. These fibers are first spun and then bonded together by heat and pressure until a solid sheet structure is formed. All Tyvek® styles have a neutral pH=7 and has no anti static treatments and are safe for archival use. Basis weight is 1.25 oz./sq .yd. Thickness 5.3 ml. It is soft, flexible, water and tear resistant, particulate free, and breathable. Since Tyvek® can be easily glued or taped, it can be fabricated into dust covers, sleeves, garment bags, storage bags – or taken from the roll as needed to create clean work areas, table tops, or displays.
Archival Soft Tyvek® is widely used because it is:

Hard Structure Tyvek --- Hard Structure Tyvek® is an opaque white paper-like material that is smooth and flexible. It is used for lining crates, as a protective wrap for storage, for interleaving, and a barrier where protection from dirt, water, and environmental pollutants is essential. It can also be used for printing, painting and making envelopes and offers the best characteristics of paper and fabric in one material. It is used by museums, galleries, artists, and art packagers during shipping and storage.
